Nearly a millennium would pass before Aesgar saw true conflict. Small-scale wars and proxy battles took place among lesser states and planets for centuries while the Terra Nova Empire gradually absorbed enormous swaths of territory in the south. Many worlds damaged in past conflicts were finally recovering thanks to the Empire, and their newfound prosperity caused population booms throughout southern Aesgar. Countless new worlds were colonized, trade expanded, and diplomatic ties cemented.
These days also saw the first galactic alliance founded with the Aesgar Confederation, based in part off the Graedian Confederacy’s model of government. The major members of the Confederation were the Terra Nova Empire, Orian Empire, and Graedian Confederacy. The aims of this union were not dissimilar to those of the present-day Aquian League: non-aggression pacts between members and dictating trade agreements, including the establishment of Common Elurian as the universal trade language. Offers of friendship and alliance were also sent to the Soltari, but these were respectfully refused.
The three main member states had excellent diplomatic relations for the duration of the Orian Empire’s existence. This is considered a galactic golden age, when colonization and trade were freer, and threats were minimal to nonexistent.
