The history of Aesgar is divided into two periods – pre-Terra Nova Unification and After Unification. Galactic history around the time of Unification is mainly told in myths and legends, and anything prior not recorded by individual worlds remains unknown. Some limited interstellar civilizations did exist, such as the Elurians and Elan, but major galactic powers like those of the present were unknown. Details become more pronounced several hundred years After Unification because of the major emerging powers and their attempts to organize galactic history into a concise body.
