HOMEWORLD: AQUIAS

The Aquilae are a strange and noble race native to Aquias in the Terra Nova system. Amphibious in nature, they are typically tall, slender, and rather reclusive. The Aquilae have mixed avian and aquatic ancestry; though they have birdlike heads and beaks, they have webbed claws and tentacles instead of wings. They also have a set of gills on their neck for breathing when underwater. Their bulbous eyes allow near-360-degree vision, and are known to flash from yellow to orange in fits of anger, which they are prone to when insulted or provoked.

Though they have an excellent grasp of technology, they usually implement it on a small scale. Aquilae armor is highly prized for its featherweight mass and durability, as are their rifles: supercompressed water guns that can cut through organic or mechanical foes with ease. The Aquilae also helped to design and build Atlaantia City at the behest of the newly formed League in 2889. In return for the Aquilae housing this impressive complex on their waters, the League passed strict anti-hunting, fishing, and mining laws for Aquias, making every effort to preserve their homeworld.
