HOMEWORLD: MICA

Micans are a tough race, hailing as they do from the innermost planet in the Terra Nova system. Mica is a hot and rocky world, but the Micans have evolved to survive their harsh conditions and even thrive in them. Reptilian in origin, they stand upright with roughly humanoid dimensions, though they are about as short and stocky as Akkeans and tend toward hunchbacked. Their tails are rather stubby, and have double-jointed legs, baleful yellow eyes, and hair follicles; though Mica is too hot to support a healthy scalp, most Micans that leave the homeworld grow spiky shocks of black hair. They have evolved to tolerate the extreme heat of their world and care little for physical discomfort. Their scales are like natural armor and very tough; many Micans are green in coloration, but grey is equally common, and most have some sort of blend. The Micans have little use for speech and tend to be rather silent unless they absolutely have to speak up – but when they do, people listen. This is due in equal parts to their intimidating gravelly voices and exceptional intelligence. Many great philosophers have actually come from the Micans, and they of course are natural warriors
