TERRESTRIAL (TROPICAL, FORESTS)

Terrellia is a world bearing deep scars. Half of the planet’s surface consists of dense tropical forests, in which can be found the ruins of an advanced people. The other half of the planet is largely pulverized wastelands or rocky plateaus. Most of the world’s settlements are located in the more desolate areas to allow the ecology to spread back across the planet. Many historians believe that Terrellia was home to an advanced civilization capable of interstellar flight at the same time as Terra Nova began to grow. But around the time it should have flowered into a thriving empire across many star systems, an ecological or geological disaster struck their homeworld. This blow is believed to have caused the decay of Terrellia and its eventual merging with the Terra Nova Empire. Other theories as to why the planet sustained such a rapid and dramatic destruction in its ecology point to a technological disaster, either singular or several spread over much of the planet. Nothing definitive has as yet been proven.
